Trivia at the Lansdowne Hotel, Chippendale

Tuesday 7:30pm

The Lansdowne hotel pulls its usual student crowd for its trivia night, where it pulls a decent crowd which is significantly assisted by the presence of an overlapping happy hour between 8pm - 9pm.  The pub also has $11 jugs of Boags Draught for the whole night.

The prize pool is $150 for the normal trivia and an additional $50 that can be earned in the bonus round. There is also a jackpot at the end, which grows by $50 each week that it doesn't go off.

Trivia at Drummoyne Sailing Club, Drummoyne

Thursday 6:30pm

The Drummoyne Sailing Club Trivia is run by the Innquizitive company and occurs on Thursday nights at 6:30pm. The venue surprisingly pulls a pretty significant crowd with typically 20 plus teams, the vast majority which are from the older demographic. Each time I have gone to this venue, the audio has been erratic and also the televisions on which aspects of the questions are shown are sporadically spread around the venue and consequently the choice of table is vitally important as you may be in a significant disadvantage.

Innquizitive trivia provides a very professional looking operation with all questions being screened on the big screen with associated audiovisual components and all answers being denoted in a professionally printed answer book of which a page is teared and returned each round. Innquizitive trivia is suited to those who like their trivia long and slow, as the company produces approximately 50 questions split up in five rounds. This combined with the marking of the answer books five different times can mean that their nights drag out over the 3 hour mark. Also it is important to get in early in some venues to ensure you have vision of a television as constantly getting up to check the screen can get annoying.
