This hulking pub positioned on the edge of the industrial area of Artarmon runs trivia on Wednesday nights each week. Pulling in a significant crowd, as per most of the trivia nights on the North Shore, it has a majority of mature players but also a smattering of large teams of young players. This competitive trivia is run by Tim Shorter of Fame Trivia.
The night is run by Fame Trivia who write all their own questions and then supply them to the hosts, so there is no risk of obscure questions based on the interests of the host (however this does take some of the fun out of it). Fame Trivia run two groups of 20 questions, split up by a significant gap which may not be too everyone's liking. Their nights tend to take about 2 and a half hours from start to finish. The questions that they write tend to be some of the stronger around, covering a broad range of topics but including a large number of answers that are able to be deduced rather than simply known or not. They do tend to keep it pretty serious though, with the presence of simply who am I questions that you need to run up and hand to the host, and an absence of any of the more fun (silly) trivia activities such as paper aeroplane competitions and playdo.
